Currently incarcerated in Arizona

"I began my redemption at the beginning of the year 2019. Confronting my troubles, my problems, my fears and my burdens. Having discovered who I was as an individual, what it was that I am capable of, and where it was possible to take me. It was then that I found talent, the gift, the passion and the absolute confidence to claim the title “Artist”. Constantly challenging myself and eagerness to expand, grow and experiment. "

✑ Artist's bio

I am a full blooded Native American from Arizona. An Akimel-Tohono Otham ( Pima-Papago) from the Gila River Indan Community and Tohono Odham Nation. I am 30 years old and have been drawing since my years as a child. Throughout my years I never understood what an artist was or what an artist could be capable of. Drawing was only a hobby, an activity to do, an idea of what I “wanted” to do. Instead, I became an alcoholic, a suicidal-depressed drunkard who. Neglected the possibilities of whats, wheres and whys. I was first incarcerated at the end of the year 2012 and released at the beginning of 2015. Having been only out for a year, I began my second offense in mid-2016. Unfortunately, this will be my longest sentence to serve having to combine Tribal-Federal and State all in one. I came to face one of my biggest fear and have been living it out since the beginning of this term : “Loneliness”. I’ve lost everything and am only hanging on to what’s left in my life : my mother and little brother. But, It was then I discovered the what, the who and where of what I possessed. I began my redemption at the beginning of the year 2019. There’s nothing more I want to do with my life than be what I am privileged to do. I am more than what meets the eye. I am a poet, I am a story teller, I am a teacher, I am a traveler. “Art” is an evolving form, a transition, and a never ending idea that could be destroyed. Everyone is capable of “Art”. The technique is all that has to be discovered. Everything is “Art”. The perspective is all that is needed to be perceived. I am fascinated and amazed by every artist and their style. It is a pleasure and a privilege to acknowledge…. To be acknowledged amongst the Artistic world. I am an Artist, I am Art and there is no excuse why I shouldn’t succeed in it. Art has redeemed me to want to live, explore, dream and conquer. Thank you! .
